Claire loves to help put Ella to sleep at night. It's something that she typically gets to do once a week, on Monday nights, when Melanie is out and I have both girls. But earlier this month something unusual happened - I was away for the week in Boston at a conference for work. That week Claire got to put Ella to sleep every night.
So tonight, Melanie and I are working the bedtime routine where she puts Ella down and I take care of Claire, when Claire pipes up "I'm going to put Ella to sleep". We both give her a kind 'no'. So she says "Daddy, I want you to go on a plane to Boston right now - I promise that you can come back in the morning, but you need to go on a plane now and I'll put Ella to sleep. It will be ok."
