This past weekend was the annual Kansas State fiddling championship. I took Claire, and knowing how she acts when I take her to see music, I brought her little violin.

She really enjoyed the day (as did I). Her favorite part was perhaps when we were watching the youth fiddle competition. The youngest official participant was probably about five. The youngest unofficial participant was just shy of three. Claire watched the fiddlers on the stage for only a few minutes before declaring to me "Daddy, I want to play my violin on the stage". She then unpacked her instrument and started to play. What I caught on video here was the minor incident. Shortly after this she took it back out, stood up, and really went to town. She wanted to play so badly that she actively avoided me when I tried to get her to sit down and put the violin away since she was really becoming an adorable distraction to the competition.
