As many of you know we've spent the last fifteen weeks on varying degrees of bed rest, going through heavy contractions multiple times a day - at times as many as 90 during our [extended] waking hours. The roller coaster ride continued in recent days, with stronger and stronger contractions coming overnight nearly every night. Around 1am US Central time last night the contractions began once more. By 2am they were strong, by 3am we were at the hospital, and by 9:30am we had a wonderful little girl.
Ella Eve McLewin was born this morning at 9:32am. She weighs six pounds thirteen ounces, measure at eighteen inches long and is, like her big sister, a 'very good eater'. She and Melanie are well.
Melanie is proud to have delivered VBAC (you can guess on the V, BAC stands for Birth After Cesarean) and with no drugs at all. She was quite the trooper through the six and a half hour labor. In one sense that's a very quick labor. In another, we've been at this since September, so it seems like a rather long labor. :)

What ANOTHER baby? :)
Ahhh...Well done Melanie! And Scott and Claire too of course. The gang here in Australia wish you the best and look forward to meeting Ella in due course. So...when's the next one coming? :) :) Congratulations!!!
